Firstly I would like to begin by introducing myself; I'm Elizabeth, the proud owner of Elizabeth's Flowers. We are a floral design studio situated in Wellesbourne, just a stones throw away from the Stratford upon Avon, the home of William Shakespeare.
My love for floristry began when I was a young girl, helping my mother in the garden and learning all the names of various English garden flowers, as we went round the garden, planting seeds and watering them together. Then when I was 9 years old, I saw an empty shop in Stratford. As we drove past, I told my parents my dream was to own my own little shop just like that one day! In school I always enjoyed anything creative. My two favourite lessons were art and textiles, and my childhood dream was to run my own shop making and selling cushions and quilts.
When I left school, my dream adapted, as my creative flare and love for flowers from a young age, came together and led me to train in floristry, at Moreton Morrell College, where I gained a City and Guilds NVQ. Later I worked in different florist shops around my local area, whilst also studying floristry at college, learning everything there is to know about flowers! It became obvious at that time, that my dream to have a little shop, would be wonderful if it were to be a pretty little flower shop, and so from there I worked hard to make it a reality.
In spring of 2013 I began my business, Elizabeth’s Flowers, later that year; my dream came true when I opened my shop in Stratford upon Avon. It went from strength to strength, with two years of providing flowers for local people in Stratford upon Avon and customers from afar. The business so far has led me to meet so many interesting people, and taken me down many different routes. As we have expanded to provide a unique wedding flower service and arrange event flowers for a number of local occasions. Other memorable achievements have included providing flower arrangements for a feature on a televised national programme and winning a shop window display competition.
In September 2015, Elizabeth’s Flowers, made the next big step to expand the business further, moving to Wellesbourne, where we now work from a brand new floral design studio, focusing on weddings, event flowers.
The three main aims, for my business have always been, to provide top quality products, the best possible customer service and offer the most reasonable prices. In order to achieve this Elizabeth’s Flowers only use the best quality flowers picked in Holland and delivered to our studio the very next day! With such a quick turn around from the grower to the florist, this ensures only the highest quality flowers. The small team of florists here at Elizabeth’s flowers, will always help to make your experience far more personal. Meaning you can chat with the florist and request exactly the type of arrangement you had in mind, and we will always try our best to interpret and create exactly what you have imagined. Or if you would rather leave it to us, our experienced florists will be more than happy to help advise you on what would fit the occasion, and be the best value for money to suit any budget.
After years of working in floristry, I can honestly say I feel very lucky to be able to do my dream job everyday. My favourite part of floristry has always been, being able to bring a smile to people’s faces, with a simple bouquet of flowers whilst meeting new people. I’m very proud of how far Elizabeth’s Flowers has evolved over the past few years and for this I can only thank all our regular customers for their continued support. We aim to always put our customers first, and continue going above and beyond to create the most beautiful flowers for you!
